Selling Access Codes Through Bookstores
Most institutions collect the per-student fee by including the fee directly
in course readers or course fees. When this option isn't practical,
institutions may also sell individual student access codes through a bookstore
or copy center. Here is the procedure:
-
The bookstore or copy center e-mails RLT
a purchase order for the maximum
number of students that will be playing the simulation. The purchase order
should include a professor contact and a mailing address to recieve the
codes.
-
RLT mails the codes and an invoice to the bookstore. Each code appears
on its own colored sheet of paper that also provides instructions on how
to use the code to register.
-
The invoice amount is due immediately. However, after the term ends
RLT will fully refund charges for unused codes. The bookstore or copy center
must request the refund from RLT.
The access code is an eight-digit sequence of numbers and letters that
is unique to each student. If an insitution is using the individual
access codes, then students must enter their codes when they register themselves
for the simulation. (The free trial account does not include the
field for the individual access code.)
Instructors should be aware that most bookstores or copy centers will
add a mark-up and taxes to the per-student fee. A mark-up and tax of more
than $5 is typical.
