In the same way you checked revenues, you can click on the different queues to see the daily average queue levels. Similarly you can click on the stations to see the daily average utilizations. By doing this, you will notice that there is a large queue in front of station 1 and that the queue in front of that station has been growing, for example. Students can use this information, as well as more sophisticated analyses using the historic customer arrivals and utilization levels to identify the factory bottlenecks and predict future bottlenecks.
During an actual simulation, students will be able to change certain parameters defined by the assignment. These include buying and selling machines, changing priority scheduling at Station 2, changing lot size, promising different lead times, and changing the inventory re-order quantity and re-order point.
Clicking on the "History" button on the bottom of the screen shows the changes that the team has made so far.
Click on the other buttons and icons to get a feeling for the data and dynamics in the simulation.
